There are to be no unattended students hanging out after school, you are to be in tutoring, detention, sports practice or the library. No exceptions! Thank you —Administration

Reminder to Students and Parents: Slime and Putty are not permitted in school-Thank you —Administration.

Students: If you park in the back parking lot you are not able to leave until after the busses have left.

Students show your school spirit and wear a Purple Hornet or L’Anse Area Schools shirt to our home games and get in for $1!

STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES:

Students 18 and older: GE is looking for workers after school for 2 hours. Applications can be picked up from the GE office in the elementary or from Mrs. Grentz.

Electrical Line Technician Program Open House. October 12th 1 pm - 3 pm at the Midwest Skills Development Center. More information can be found at nmu.edu/bigjobs or by contacting Erik Powers at epowers@marquette.org or by calling 226-6591

CLUB NEWS:

Quiz Bowl: Meetings will be held at lunch on Wednesday’s and after school on Tuesday’s in room 209.

The International Travel Club is collecting receipts from Econo Foods as a fundraiser. Please give them to Ms. Keyes or Mrs. Belanger.

High School SADD Meetings will take place every Tuesday at lunch in Mrs. Grentz’s room.

Robotics meetings will take place every Wednesday after school from 3:20-5:00 (or so) in Mrs. Wightman's room. All interested students, grades 9-12, are encouraged to attend.

Every Wednesday night from 4-7 p.m. until the end of May is International Travel Club Night at Burger King so come and enjoy a tasty Whopper, tantalizing chicken sandwich, or whatever else you like! 20 percent of proceeds go to the International Travel Club for their trip to Germany, Switzerland and Italy in 2019.

A necklace was found in the hall outside Mrs. Augustine’s classroom, two rings have been found in the middle school-1 found in Mrs. Maddux’s room and 1 found in Mrs. LaFave’s room, please stop in the Jr/Sr High School Office to claim.
Two necklaces have been found and can be claimed in Central Office.

A pair of glasses were found in the Middle School Hallway, please claim in the Jr/Sr High School Office.

Please check the bench outside the Jr/Sr High School office for lost clothing items and books.

COMMUNITY NEWS:

Howl-O-Scream Haunted House will take place the following Fridays and Saturdays at the Meadowbrook Ice Arena:
October 20th and 21st from 7-10:30 p.m. Admission is $8 for one time and $13 for the night. All proceeds benefit the Meadowbrook Ice Arena.

Mini House for little ghosts and goblins will take place on Friday, October 20th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Meadowbrook Ice Arena. Admission is $5.

We need at least 40 students signed up for the fan bus by noon today or it will be cancelled.
Sign up and pay for the fan bus by noon today! (Students in grades 9-12th only)

Gov. Rick Snyder has ordered U.S. and Michigan flags to be lowered to half-staff on Thursday, October 19, in honor of U. S. Army Sgt. Michael S. Yachanin, who died Friday, October 6.

Good luck to the 7th grade girls’ basketball team as they face Baraga in the District 2 Championship game tonight at 5 p.m in Baraga.

THIS WEEK:

Students in grades 9 through 12: If you are interested in taking the fan bus to Friday night’s football game in West Iron please stop by the Jr/Sr High School office by noon on Thursday to sign up and pay. The cost is $5 per student. If we do not have enough students signed up and paid by noon on Thursday, the bus will be cancelled.

Attention Quiz Bowl Members: Please talk with your teachers about Friday and get your homework in advance. We will meet at the school Friday at 7 a.m. to go to the NMU competition.

Junior Class Meeting this Thursday, October 19th at lunch in Ms. Budweg’s room.

Freshman Class: Your cookie dough orders/$ need to be turned in to Ms. Keyes by the end of the day on Thursday. Please total your orders and make sure the money you turn in matches the total amount you sold.
